Brothers, and my to is for Israel, that they may be . For I testify about them that they have a for , but not according to knowledge. For being ignorant of , and seeking to establish their own , they didn't subject themselves to the of . For Christ is the fulfillment of for to everyone who believes. For writes about the of , "The one who does them will live by them." But the which is of says this, "Don't say in , 'Who will ascend into ?' (that is, to bring Christ down); or, 'Who will descend into the abyss?' (that is, to bring Christ up from .)" But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your and in ;" that is, the word of which we preach: that if you will with your that is and in that him from , you will be . For with one believes resulting in ; and with the is made resulting in . For the says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." For there is no distinction between and ; for the same is of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, "Whoever will of will be ." How then will they call on him in whom they have not ? How will they in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? And how will they preach unless they are sent? As : "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the of peace, who bring of good things!" But they didn't all listen to the glad news. For says, ", who has our report?" So comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of . But I say, didn't they hear? Yes, most certainly, "Their sound went out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." But I ask, didn't Israel know? First says, "I will provoke you to with that which is no nation. I will make you angry with a nation void of ." is very bold and says, "I was found by those who didn't seek me. I was to those who didn't ask for me." But about Israel he says, "All day long I stretched out my hands to a and contrary people."

The world at this moment · Under Rome, 63 BC to AD 100

Judea as a client kingdom and then a province. Roads, garrisons, taxes, crucifixion, and a common Greek language that let a message travel the empire faster than any before it.

Rome
The republic tears itself apart in civil war and comes out as an empire under Augustus. What follows is two centuries of relative peace across the whole Mediterranean, enforced by legions and paid for by taxes, with safe roads and safe sea lanes. Every one of Paul's journeys depends on that.
Judea
Governed first through Herod the Great, a client king of enormous ability and enormous brutality who rebuilds the temple into one of the wonders of the ancient world, then directly by Roman prefects. Crucifixion is the standard penalty for sedition and is used often and publicly.
The wider world
Greek is spoken from Spain to Syria, which means a letter written in Corinth can be read in Rome without translation. Jewish communities already exist in most major cities, which is where the first Christian preaching lands. Mystery religions, imperial cult, and philosophy all compete in the same marketplace.
Further afield
The Han dynasty rules China and trades silk westward along routes that touch the Roman world at second hand. In Britain the Roman conquest begins within a decade of the crucifixion.
