"Don't let be troubled. in . also in me. In house are many homes. If it weren't so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also. You know where I go, and you know ." said to him, ", we don't know where you are going. How can we know ?" said to him, "I am , the truth, and the life. No one comes to , except through me. If you had known me, you would have known also. From now on, you know him and have seen him." said to him, ", show us , and that will be enough for us." said to him, "Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, ? He who has seen me has seen . How do you say, 'Show us '? Don't you that I am in , and in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but who lives in me does his works. me that I am in , and in me; or else me for the very works' sake. Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to . Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that may be glorified in the Son. 14If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. If you love me, keep my . I will to , and he will give you another , that he may be with you : of truth, whom the world can't receive, for it doesn't see him and doesn't know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you . I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also. In that day you will know that I am in , and you in me, and I in you. One who has my and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by , and I will love him, and will myself to him." If you loved me, you would have rejoiced because I said 'I am going to ;' for is greater than I. Now I have told you before it happens so that when it happens, you may . The world at this moment · Under Rome, 63 BC to AD 100

Judea as a client kingdom and then a province. Roads, garrisons, taxes, crucifixion, and a common Greek language that let a message travel the empire faster than any before it.

Rome
The republic tears itself apart in civil war and comes out as an empire under Augustus. What follows is two centuries of relative peace across the whole Mediterranean, enforced by legions and paid for by taxes, with safe roads and safe sea lanes. Every one of Paul's journeys depends on that.
Judea
Governed first through Herod the Great, a client king of enormous ability and enormous brutality who rebuilds the temple into one of the wonders of the ancient world, then directly by Roman prefects. Crucifixion is the standard penalty for sedition and is used often and publicly.
The wider world
Greek is spoken from Spain to Syria, which means a letter written in Corinth can be read in Rome without translation. Jewish communities already exist in most major cities, which is where the first Christian preaching lands. Mystery religions, imperial cult, and philosophy all compete in the same marketplace.
Further afield
The Han dynasty rules China and trades silk westward along routes that touch the Roman world at second hand. In Britain the Roman conquest begins within a decade of the crucifixion.
